In the Wild: Hilarious Overshares From Strangers

Hello and welcome back to the Girls Get Off podcast. Viv, you've had a busy week. What's been happening? I've had a busy week. Look, I wish I had some really juicy dating stories to tell people, but what I think what I'm going to do with the podcast is I'm going to take people, you know, keep people updated on my dating journey and all the different tactics that I'm trying. And One of the things, well, first of all, I've had a great week. How's your week been? Nice. That just gave me the idea that maybe your dating should be like a tax write off. Yeah, for sure. Phil. Yeah. No, that sounds like a great plan. Yeah, we love the dating updates from you. My week, sorry, has been... Um, as hectic as I sound right now, I literally just fell asleep an hour ago. Um, yeah, quite, we both got on, we both got on the meeting this morning. So every morning at girls get off, we have a morning huddle and we normally do a bit of gratitude updates on what everyone's working on and sort of priorities with the whole team this morning. Joe and I have a meeting before that meeting to catch up and go over anything we need to, and then we jump into this group meeting. And this morning we were like, okay, see you in the next meeting, got into the next meeting and we sat there for three minutes and then we realized that no one else was here today and we were just by ourselves and we had just been talking about, I think in the meeting this morning between us, we were like, what are we doing today? So the energy, the energy between us is at an all time low. Next year we're booking in holidays in the middle of the year, so we don't have this final grind to the end of the year. far out that was funny I took a screen shot of us both I think I was like half slumped in the chair and you were laughing and sitting on the ground of your house on the floor I was like oh god this is all falling to pieces really so thank god for the public holiday on Monday. Oh my gosh funny yeah we've got we've actually been doing a download with Viv and Jo email date for our email list each week and I'm quite surprised I must say Viv every time they come out the screenshots you have managed to grab. I didn't even, I didn't even, I said to the email girls yesterday look you guys never get anything wrong just don't ask me for approvals anymore it'll be fine so I've got no idea what they posted in that email yesterday I don't know until it hits her inbox now. Nice, nice what a good surprise, great surprise. Good surprise. But yes, anyway, so I feel that though I haven't been on any dates, I thought it would be quite a fun little updates every now and then on what has been happening in my dating life because I mean, when you were going on some dates, Jo, the people really loved it. In fact, I particularly loved the real time updates of you on those dates. That was great. Probably even more entertaining at the fact I can't date without drinking, so you never know what you're going to get. Oh my gosh. So funny. I think the last, I can't remember the last date I went on that was actually just me, to be honest. I think I took you a loved one. I've been on one of the dates, yes. And then Courtney came on the other and yeah, documented it all to our stories. It's quite entertaining. Um, but yeah, pity I don't date much for the audience. Well, yeah, I mean, and for context as well, I think, um, I've been trying to create abundance in my dating pool, because I realized that I had been often putting all my eggs in one basket, or I'll match someone on an app and then I'll just talk to that one person or just not really, not really have like, I won't Mentally create lots of options for myself and it wasn't until I had a couple of conversations with a few of my guy friends And I could see that they were you know One of them was just like scrolling through his matches being like, yeah forgot to talk to her Oh didn't talk to her and the same with this other friend. He was just like just matches on matches on matches. In fact, I Wonder if he'd come on the podcast one day. He's had like Had like different he's like I've got my apps. I like my pipeline and then I get them onto Instagram and that's like my nurture sequence. So I've got like interesting things happening. It's down to a system. And I was like, you know what the difference is here? Is that they've got an abundance mindset with their dating options. And I was like, so I need to create an abundance mindset. And it doesn't mean that I have to go on lots of dates. It means that I just have to just create abundance whether it be like a sense of different options or. having actual different options. So one of the things that I've been doing is because I also, they have such a, so hard, do you know what I mean? I'm like- I'm like abundance just sounds fricking hard. It does not sound pleasant. Well, one of the things I've decided to do, and I'd mentioned that I've got to go, you know, fishing where there's a bigger pool of people is going to the gym, but at the gym that I go to, you often have to go and partner up with people and often- guys go with the guys and girls go with girls, but I've just made it this internal thing, competition against myself that I'm just gonna partner up with guys, which actually doesn't, it's actually, if you're doing things like weights and you're lifting two really different amounts of weights, like it doesn't really make that much sense, but I've been pushing for it anyway, and. The last four times I've been to the gym, I've just gone with guys and it's actually been so much fun. The guys talk to me more than the girls talk to me when I partner up with them. So I think it's going well so far. It's contributing to the abundance mindset. You own a sex toy company, I'm sure the conversation is going great. Remember Hot Henry used to be the only reason why I'd go to the gym. Yes. What a positive influence he had on your life. I know, I know. And like, I swear I would just like get so much more out of that session that Hot Henry was at instead of like, you know, you just kind of take it easy if I went to another one, but I had to like really get into it. I'm sure he liked that beetroot look. Totally, and I figure that if, you know, I'm not necessarily gonna date these guys. But at the very least, I make some new friends and then they could be the gateway guys to more guys. So it makes sense. So that's currently where I'm at, is partnering up with guys in the gym, doing some swiping, at least 10 a day. If I go on the app, I've got to swipe at least, I've got to swipe through, like not say yes to 10, but like swipe through 10 with a positive attitude, not focusing on what they don't have in their bios, but instead what they do. And if I don't have a positive attitude, then I have to get off the app. Um, and that's the current, that's the current abundance strategy. Yeah, you're actively getting out there and trying to create it. So it's perfect. You know, and yeah, meeting, meeting them at the gym tech. Yeah. Oh, unless they're like gym decks. I'll keep you posted. I will keep you posted. We'll see. I don't think I've ever swiped right to one guy whose profile says that. But people are just so like multi-dimensional, like even the guy I paired up with on Monday, I was like, I'll just go and ask if he wants to be in a pair. And I didn't think much of it. And then once we started talking, I'm like, oh, he's actually really cool. I'm like, you can't tell this from an app. It's so much nicer to talk to people in real life. So if I don't like the apps that much, then that means I've got to take action elsewhere. Go you. Stay tuned. It's been two weeks of me deciding to pair up with guys at the gym, so we'll see how it goes. I'm glad one of us is going to have updates for everybody. Amazing. Okay. And so today, the context of this topic is I was at an expo in the weekend. We did the Mind, Body, Spirit show in Sydney, and man, it's so funny. We just... We meet so many different people. It's a bit of a graft being on your feet all the time. And honestly, the highlights of these shows or meeting people in person is always the funny stories that people tell us, funny or like insightful or they just make us laugh. And I remember finishing the expo and this time I said to Bella, what are all the conversations we had? I need to tell Joe these things because I'm aware that I'm so desensitized to people telling me funny stories or their sex toy stories or their sex life stories that I just go, ah, you know, and then I totally forget about them. And then I shared them with you and you were like, we need to make this into an episode. I know. And I don't think either of us realized this at the start. Like, well, who would? You would not think starting a business would just bring all... like these unsolicited over shares to right in front of us, right? Like it's just like, it's like a lock that just, you know, you tell people and it's just like, I think it's also because people often have a funny, like people often have a funny sex toy story, or they've got some kind of experience that's particularly memorable. And we end up, like this started happening way back before we'd even started this business. When I got my vibrators stolen out of my house, if you haven't listened to that episode, go back and listen to it. But the cop who was there was like, A, we were in tears, cry laughing, because someone's stolen all my vibrators. And then B, he was like, oh my God. And he proceeds to tell me this other hilarious story about how They went to like another robbery one time and they, oh, what did they do? This, it ended up somehow that this dog appeared with like a dildo in its mouth or something because he'd taken it from like the robber or something. It was so funny. And so it started way back then, like, cause everyone's, it's just so memorable if something funny happens with sex toys. And so it's just like the key that they've been waiting for to be like. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, this episode is in the wild. In the wild. And because if we don't share them, we'll forget them too. And they deserve to be heard. They do. All right. Viv hit us with the latest expo. Okay. Standby. All right. So. One of the, okay, so I was at the show and when people, the way I entice them, I guess, to walk over to the stand sometimes, is I'll hold out Missy with the nozzle side up and I'll say, hey, do you wanna come and feel the pulsing sensation of this vibrator? And this lady walks over with her partner and she pops her thumb on the sucky nozzle part and I said this is, you know, creates a light vacuum around the clit and it's a pulsing sensation, so it's very different from traditional. vibrators and vibrations and she said also different to the one that I'm wearing right now and I was like Oh, yeah, if you're wearing a vibrator right now, and honestly, this is what I mean by not being based at all I'm like, oh, yeah If you're wearing one right now and that's just vibrating like this is very different and she's like my partner's been controlling it the whole He's been walking around controlling it the whole time and I can see his hand in his pocket and like have you seen any of those like Instagram stories like porn videos and they've got the like They've got their phone screen out and they can like move their thumb all over the screen changes like the vibrations of the toy. He's honestly got his hand in his pocket and I was just, I was, we were just laughing and she's also looking me in the eyes and I'm like, this woman is probably halfway to climax and I'm, and I'm part of this journey. It was so funny and Bella didn't hear because she was talking to other people, but it was priceless. Honestly, I don't think she did. Did she? I can't remember. I don't know, but she was obviously having a pretty good time already. Oh my gosh. So, so funny. So funny. I bet like, I can't imagine anyone else. She would have shared that with that day. It's just, there was no hesitation either. It was like, what different, so different from the one that I'm wearing right now. And I just laughed. I was like, Oh, that is so good. So, so funny. Um, I had another one where. At the expo, it was so epic. Sometimes we get people walk up to us and they just also have the most incredible stories. One lady bought a vibrator and she'd found out her husband of 38 years had been cheating on her. And two weeks ago, she'd found out. So this was super fresh. So she was pumped to have a vibe. She had a whole new lease on life. So you get those moments where people are super vulnerable. a big thing for them and then you get the people who there was a lady and she had split up with her husband as well, she must have been early 50s and she was like, she was glowing honestly, she was like, I've been talking to, she's like, I've been on the apps, she must have been in this relationship for like 20 or so years and she's like, I've been on the apps, she's like, one of these guys. wanted to be exclusive and I'm like, I'm not being exclusive with anyone. And she's like, I'll show you. And so she's like, I've got this thing for younger guys at the moment. And she's been sleeping with these guys and she was meeting one the following day who was worked for Emirates or something. And he obviously had a hotel room. So she was buying a vibe so that she could like bring something to the party the next night. But she then was showing us her. the guys that she'd been seeing on Tinder and she was honestly having the time of her life. She's like, I lied about my age on one of them. She's like, so I said I was 48 and he'd lied about his age and said that he was like 33 or something. And then turns out he was 28 and she's 51, 52 or something. And she was just laughing, she was showing us pictures. So that was great energy. That was one of the mornings as well. So it was a good way to start the show. I love that they both had to own up to their age. I know, I know, I know. And the fact that she had like three, she was seeing three guys, she had three guys on the rotation and she was like, I'm absolutely not being exclusive. So that was very funny. So good. So you get both, both ends of the spectrum there. I had another lady tell me how she'd mistakenly come across her, she'd been doing some washing. went to go and put it away in her son's cupboard and come across his sex doll, like blow up sex doll, and she said, she was like, oh, I will not be doing this washing anymore. Ha ha ha. Um, yeah, I, that, that one gets me because I have two bodies. I was going to say, what would you do if you came across a six-door Jake's wardrobe? Yeah, no, no. So funny. Um, we also had. Throughout this show it was very funny and the girl who was helping me on the stand, her name's Bella or Spicy Johnston on Instagram. She's a hoot if you want to go and follow her. And she had been doing story updates on her Instagram account of how the guy probably in his 50s at the stand next door to us who was used to be on Lake McLeod's Daughters, Wentworth is now. changed career paths and now he's a healer and she's like, he's so hot, I'm gonna try and get his number. And that was like her mission for the show was to try and hit on this guy. And one of the days, and they'd been like flirting, like he'd come over to the stand, like she'd have a chat. And then we were leaving one of the days and we walked past and I turned around to go back to the stand to get something before we left. And when I turned back around, I could see him looking at her and they were obviously making eye contact and he looked like he wanted to eat her. I came back to Bella, I was like, you guys are so on, it's not even funny. Yeah, bring on the Expos for me then. And then on the last day, she finally did get his number. I went wing woman and like. Slid someone from another stand had like started talking to Bella and I slid behind her and started talking to this person so Bella could talk to this guy and Yeah, after he looked away. She's like, I just got his number and he's invited me to a healing session at his cottage I was like, oh perfect When Viv was telling me this as well, I was like, what was his name? Like I was such a McLeod's Daughters fan because there was one guy on there that was so freaking hot and it is this guy. Oh yeah. I'm so jealous. This is me not giving context again. The whole reason why we figured this out is because people were getting photos with him and Bella was like, why are people getting photos with him? I need to, I need to ask him. And so that's how the conversation started. He's like, Oh, I used to be a do a bit of acting. So that was very, that was a very entertaining thing to watch play out over the four days. nice. I was actually when I was in Bali, I was at this like, EO conference thing. And one, we went on this boat cruise one night and there was a guy, a young guy there, he looked like he's probably about 18, 19 or something. And he was part of EO. And like, people were walking past us were waiting to get on the boat and everyone was just like, crowding him getting photos and then like, like swarms of school kids, like crowding him getting photos. And I was like, who are you? I'm like, are you famous or something over here? And um, he says, yeah, you know, just, just a little bit go onto his Instagram, 6 million followers. And then he, yeah. And he followed me on Instagram. And after that, honestly, I had. Hundreds. I'm still getting them. Like I had to delete him. I'm like, it isn't worth the like hundreds of randoms. I'm just like getting from bloody Jakarta. But what was, what was he famous for? He's, he's like a, I'm not sure which one's bigger. He's like a YouTuber, Tik Tok, Instagram type thing. He gives like, he does these like free money give out. giveaways. Right. Yeah. Wild. Um, but yeah, I was like, Oh, okay. It's like Bali's number one. Idol. No way. Well, anyway, that was a random story. Um, I was at the hairdresser, um, a couple of months ago now, and you know, we're two and a half years into business and We are so desensitized, not much surprises us. Like I can say, I'd say that, you know, maybe one confession a month kind of like has that amazing wow factor for us now. So yeah, I'm at the hairdresser and you know, the conversation they're usually, it does a conversation at the hairdresser does actually usually get quite personal, I feel right. So anyway, I start getting this story about a guy that has gone in to get a Prince Albert, but he wanted two rings. So a Prince Albert is when they pierce, they put a needle in through the urethra, right? And does it come out the top or something? Yeah. And it's sort of like, yeah, it's piercing right at the end. Does it actually go into the urethra or not? I think so, but I haven't studied. I don't know, I haven't studied it either. Anyway, he was requesting two. So she wanted to put a bar above it because she's like, you can't put two rings there, right? And he's like, no, have to have two rings. The only, the reason why he needed two rings on his dick was because he wanted to go to a boys trip to Australia and the only way his wife would let him go on a boys trip is if he put a padlock on his dick. So he literally got two piercings in his dick, put a padlock to go to a trip to Australia and that like, that shocked me. Stop. Do you think it was a fetish thing or a trust thing? I feel like a therapist should be involved to work that out. Wow. Like, yeah, mind blowing, hey. Because if it's a trust thing, it doesn't really make sense. Because you could just take them out. Well. Like if they were piercings. Maybe that's why the whole padlock purposes. Random. How's he supposed to pee? Oh, yuck. That would smell so bad. Surely. Um, yeah, like, and you know, it's to their own. Um, it just, it just, it was like a wow moment for me. Haven't heard that one before. No. Um. Okay, I had another, I had a highlight actually. I think this was probably our, it was probably the best customer interaction I've ever had at a show. So there was this lady, she was stunning. She must've been well into, oh, okay, I'm not very good with ages. Like maybe, oh, definitely 70s. Like she would just look like, it looked like she was quite old, but she was really stunning, if that makes sense. Like she'd- looked after herself and she was just like beautiful and she had, she was with like her 15 year old granddaughter and same thing. I, you know, talked to the grandma and I'm saying, Hey, this is, you want to come and feel the pulsing sensation? I said, this is our best selling sex toy. And she's like, Oh, I know what this is. And she had like a little kind of, it was almost like a European accent or something. And she's like, Oh, of course I know what this is. And I'm, I'm starting to like explain it to her. And then she's just like, someone pinched mine. I'm like, oh my god, someone's stolen Nana's vibrator. She's like, someone pinched mine. She turns around to her granddaughter, just like no hesitation. She's like, which one, which one should I get? Which one should we get? And she's like, perfect, I'm going to get this one. I thought you were going to say that the teenage, like the 15 year old had stolen it then. I don't like- No, oh no, sorry. Oh my god. No, she just meant in general that someone had stolen one. stolen her one and she said, someone pinched mine, it was just hilarious. She said, yes I'll take that one. You know, like compared to me normally having to explain to someone that age what the sex toy is, like half the time they don't even realize what they're putting their hand on until I explain it a few times and then they get that it's not a face thing. And so she just, no hesitation was like perfect. She's like, well get that one, yep great, amazing. And she's saying to her granddaughter, she's like, you're gonna have to hide this in your bag from your mother. And like, it was like, then she's like, I don't need that paper bag. She's like, and her granddaughter was just like laughing, like giggling and just like opening up her backpack so grandma could put a new vibrator into it. It was so funny. It was so good. How cool is that? How cool is that? I know. It was so cool. It was so, so cool. Love it. Yeah, I can't wait to do these expos. I've got one coming up in November, just for these stories. They're so great. I was at a lunch one time and a lady came up to me she's like, you're Jo from GGO. She's like, oh my gosh, my hubby does not like me giving him blowjobs. I was like, whoa, okay. straight into it that I think they forget that in real life we're actually normal people as well and we go through that. You're not a sexologist. Yeah it's just like okay we're just getting straight into it. What did you say to her? Did she expand on that a little bit? So I want to see the feedback on our different range. And he said, you know, funny story that his wife had died. A few years prior and he said she she's like we were pretty into toys But she had way more toys than I realized and he's like and when she passed I was like What am I gonna do with all these toys and he put them he's like, you know clearing out his stuff He's like he's like I put them in a big bag and he's like I just and at nighttime I took them to like a skip bin the side of the road because he didn't want to put them in their like home wheelie bin. We were laughing about it so much. I was like I've never thought about that before. I know he didn't want to. He previously made a trip to get rid of them, just dispose of them. There must have been quite a few. It was so funny. We had a good laugh. Yeah although it would be pretty funny wouldn't it if somebody's bin was out and then like you Yeah, like, you know, the... But like, when the rubbish people, like, imagine them, the truck, like, tipping that upside down into the scoopy thing and it's just like all these dildos falling out of the rubbish bin or something. Wouldn't that be funny? I bet they've seen that before. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure. How funny. Um, I also love the... I love the story of Lib, our... customer service girl. Um, I think she was like within her first couple of months working for us. And she, she's so great. And she's so, um, you know, she's just lovely to talk to Lib, isn't she? She's like, yeah. And so she, I think I, I need a different name. Like what's a, what's a older lady name? Because I don't want to use the lady's name. Jan. Okay. Yeah. Jan's good. Okay. So, um, so I think Jan emails in and she has some questions and Libs like, here's, here's my number. Just like, give me a call. So Jan rings and she's like, look, I bought Tiff. Um, she's my first sex toy. Haven't, I just need some help. I can't like, I don't know how to use her. And, you know, Lib. for starters, like Tiff's pretty, you know, intermediate level. She's not the starting point. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You go with a missy first. Yeah, yeah. And so Tiff's trying to explain, you know, what part goes in your vag and the other part goes on the clit and stuff. And she's like, oh, yeah. Just let me make a coffee. And so she's on the phone to live still while she's making a coffee. still chatting about it, pours her coffee, like she's okay just I'm just gonna go sit down with my coffee and she's on the phone for about half an hour it was the sweetest thing ever. I love it. So funny and she called her back too I think. Oh three times? I think she called her back with feedback or something it was so good yeah. Yeah yeah so good um so yeah no it like that's how great and lucky are we really to- have people just trust us so much. It's so good. So good. I've got two more stories left. One of them is quite a quick one. I had a pretty funny interaction with someone who just off the cuff said at the last show, if you ever want to give a guy multiple orgasms, take acid and lock yourselves in a room. So there's a there's a hot tip you can take home. hadn't heard that one before, but anyway, good to know. Good to know. And then another highlight was definitely, there was a guy who wandered over to our stand. He was waiting on like a healing session or whatever from another neighboring stand. And we got into talking about sex parties and the sex parties that he'd been to. but also that after he'd started going, he got accepted into this E&M WhatsApp group chat. So E&M for those who don't know is like ethical non-monogamy. So for people who might be in open relationships and it was, oh, it was just so funny. The way he was talking about, he's like, I'm in the group chat and we have, we just, you know, they just go for like picnics once a month in Centennial Park. I'm like. just go with your little like you just pass each other at the park or something he's like sometimes or like you know it's one guy he's like one guy he brings like a different girl every time we were just laughing so much and then he was like and they also have and i haven't googled this i should have done a bit of research but he said the meetups that they have they call them munches so they might have like a they might have like a bdsm munch you know like the bdsm might be the theme for the month and they call it a munch and we were just dying What a name for it. A munch. I'm like, I don't know where that comes from. But anyway. It somehow works perfectly. Yeah. We had a very funny time chatting with him. I just love how normalized it is. It just lights up my life. It's so great. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Okay. I'm out of stories, even though we have. been hit with two and a half years worth, we've realized now that we need to start writing them down. So we'll do that and get another episode in a few months, I'm sure. Yeah, I am keen to do that. I honestly hear them all the time. They just go right over the top of my head and it's just like someone telling me about what they ate for breakfast. So I will make more of an effort to keep note of the funny stories that- and interactions and learnings that come in, man. It's so good. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
