We met early that day. So I didn't see you too much after this. okay. I spoke too soon. Funny. Um, yeah, well you might not be here if you had have been there at the end of the night.

Yeah. Trust me. I'm just as bad sometimes. So mentioned you've got kids. How many kids have you got? Got two lovely humans, beautiful humans. So, um, they're very fortunate. Nice. How about you, Joe? kids, 17, almost 18, like I've realised this week and a seven year old. Oh, nice.

I've been like, telling, so I've been to, I lived a year in England, back in 2009. It's 2010. So it was over there playing bit of.

footy and that was my first experience literally living at home with mom and dad being like gone. So I went from Pahmi to England. Wow. I went to England before I went to the South Island of New Zealand. That's yeah that's wild. Yeah. I did a move from Noosa. I lived in Noosa before I moved to New Zealand and I moved to New Zealand in 2010.

And I was living in Noosa and I went Noosa to Rotorua and I was like, I went the opposite. I went a big downgrade. So what made you move to New Zealand from Noosa? well, that's a long story. I can give you like the half truth on here, but probably not worthwhile. Look at me now, you did really wonderful for us. Well, I like ever since I've come here, right? Like I had it.

sorted in Noosa. Like my dad had kind of up and left us and left the house there and everything. So it was like living in Noosa, free rent, just going to the beach every day. Yeah, it was, it was a good life. And I had like a 12 month old Jake at that stage. And I moved over here and like Roto-Ruo, which was, I kind of lived in like the

dingy area too, like a few gangs down the road and had to work, you know, like it was just like a wild life change. But like the people in New Zealand, I'm so much more a Kiwi than what I am in Aussie. Like people here are nice. Yeah. Yeah. People were nice and nooser? No, no.

You do meet the odd person that's nice, but it's like every man for themselves in Aussie. it's so, whereas here it's the complete opposite, you know? People will take care of each other. It's nice. I'm off, we'll circle back to that cat. Last month I've lost it. What is your best useless skill or hidden talent? This is super hard, I actually put some thought into this and I'm like... This is unfair that you got to put thought into that. It's so unfair. When I say thought, I think I printed it off about 10 to 11 this morning. Perfect. put it right. There was no thought, it was like mine and Fred.

useful skill, jeezus. If you want to pass, can pass. Otherwise, you've got one? Yes, I'll pass on that one. Hidden talent, I would say. So recently, during my age, I've taken up lawn bolts and I'm actually quite good at it. So that's... But lawn bolts is actually fun. It's super fun. Like it's actually a good song. Yeah. I used to play when I was like 20.

Like go to lawn bowls and have drinks and that was good. Yeah. Good thing about lawn bowls as well. It's like cheap prices and a bit of banter and you know, it's, there's nothing wrong with it, but yeah, I'm actually quite good at it, I'm highly surprised. Like I'm very competitive as a person. Um, so I suppose that's probably a driving force in that area as well. Nice. Um, the first thing that popped into my head for this one was that I.

make a really good first pancake. And I feel like that is hard to do. Everyone chucks the first pancake, but I can like nail it. So that's my hidden talent. Love a good pancake. Best useful skill got me. You've already answered it. That's perfect. Oh, It was like an and or question, I think. Yeah, that's perfect.

What's one value you're proud to live by? Well, I'm very generous. So that's my biggest thing. I'm very generous. And a lot of people say that about me. You know, I don't withhold too much. If someone needs something, I'll go back and give it to them. Probably my biggest value. Very loyal as well. And families message me that sort of stuff. But I'm very generous, so that's probably the best one.

Well, I do pretty well where I'm living at the moment because I live on somebody else's farm. And so I kind of like have lots more animals than what are just mine. So it's kind of perfect. I've got two dogs and a rabbit at the moment, but I also have two pigs in the yard. And then there's like, I don't know, donkey, alpacas, horses, chickens, lots of things. My kids just got a.

Got a little pup. She's three months old and recently you got a rabbit as well. So. Nice. thought I killed my rabbit yesterday. Really? The kid's rabbit. But yeah, apparently you got to introduce new food slowly. Lesson learned. Sweet. What did you do? Fit it to me carrots? No, I just bought it new kibble and I was like, I thought I'd spoil it, you know?

because it looked like a really good one. And so I gave it a whole full bowl and then it didn't move for like two days. That's like, really? Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't even check on it in the morning because I was too scared it was going to be dead before school and Arlo would have been like distraught. So I'd like drop Arlo at school and then come home and check that the bunny was still alive. my goodness. Hit us with some more questions Viv.

All right. Okay. Describe the moment, you know, you're really clicking with someone. I think having like similar interests is key. And I think if you can get on that, that sort of wavelength, then the conversation flows. And also I think good eye contact. You've got to have that eye contact and just general goodbye. Yeah. Do you think it's possible to tell by a podcast?

Well, I put myself in a one-on-one data situation. It's really strange, almost not strange. Oh, Yeah. I have no clue where you're looking. Oh dear. Um, I feel like when you ask that question Viv, I automatically, I don't know. I think the only time, cause I don't, I don't date.

Well mate, lawn bowls is a midweek hobby. For fun, I love being around my little ones. Love doing that stuff. But I love fishing.

I love my boat. I love getting on the action. That's my heavy place. I'm pretty sure I've given you shit about your boat before, haven't I? think you have. What are your fun things, My... What you like to do for fun? My fun things are different. I don't know what I want to be doing for fun.

is, um, I don't know. I'm like a, so yes, I hate socializing basically. Um, I don't like people. Um, no joking. I'm such an introvert, but I have like 10 % extrovert and then I'm like, so I need to, that 10 % of me needs to be out socializing, drinking, having a good time. Um,

The rest of the time I am so content to do whatever, but yes, my goal would be to be on a boat a lot more than what I currently am. Okay. What about you Viv? Can you jump into this conversation as well? I'll give you the next question. All right. What's something you've learned about yourself through dating?

Well, I've been single for over a year now. I haven't done a lot of dating. And honestly, haven't put that a lot of so I'm just plucking the straws and scraping the barrel for some hours as well.

I know. Yeah, I'm more of a big person that likes dazing, you know, I'm sort of, I'm a bit floated. I really am. I'm a bit of a, just rather a punchy city guy, probably why I'm doing at times, but, yeah, I don't know. I can't answer that. sounds like you've been in a few relationships though. it, so does it mean you're better at relationships than you are dating? I think I've been in two since I left.

Oh, I my wife split up. No, one, sorry. one. Nice. Yeah. How long ago did your new wife split up? Five and a half years ago. So yeah. Good relationship there, not a good relationship. Very good. So yeah. So I mean, we're still obviously just for the three little ones and it's, it's how it should be. no, nothing top circle, anything like that. Um, we still have our little, little moments, but nothing.

We move forward really quick. yeah, that's good. what's something you've learned about yourself through dating? I really wish I had a head a heads up on these, Viv. Thank you. to be myself. I think I've learned that because I haven't.

been or I've, yeah, just be me and they can take it or leave it. Nice. And that is important. What would your ideal relationship look like, can or look like and feel like in a couple of years? I don't know, like settled, fun, like could have all those, like could have the foundation, like, so I anything, right? Could have the good base, good foundation to...

And also working together, working hard together, whether it's professional or just in your relationship. Obviously with kids as well is important. Again, if it gets to that point where you've got two people that have blended family, make sure that's solid, that it is hard. That's part of the foundation which I like. But for me, I'm so laid back, I'm so chill. As I said, I go...

I rave all the punches. I float a wee bit in a good way. I'm not super, super structured, you know, I'm just do what I have to do. but I really like a good foundation, good base, fun. Like it's gotta be fun. There's that important part of relationship, which has to be fun. And that's, that's, that's... answer. Good answer.

And look, I did not know the boat, like when I brought it five years ago, the previous owner had f***ed it. So I'm not sure you don't, if you know about it, never change a boat's name, apparently. You didn't think about buying something different? It wasn't luck with the boat, not because of the name, but as soon as I... Oh, look, I worked.

I looked for so long for this particular boat. Did you? Is it? It looks like a good floater. Like it's, it's like, you know, it looks like it's made out of tubes or something. Are you fishing for something in particular or is it because it's a really spacious boat? there must be some kind of reason you waited so long to find this particular boat. But what I'm hearing from him is it's not like a dinghy, you know? Like this sounds like it's a... It's the thing! It legit looks just like a giant dinghy! And even then, you don't even have one.
