Why does glycerine in lube matter?

Glycerine is a sugar alcohol that makes lube slick and slightly sweet, and for some people it is completely fine. But sugars can feed yeast, so if you are prone to imbalance or infections down there, glycerine-free is the safer default. When in doubt, leave it out.

Is water-based lube safe with condoms and silicone toys?

Yes and yes. Water-based is the one type that is safe with every condom and every toy material, which is exactly why it is the default we recommend. It is oil that weakens latex condoms and silicone lube that damages silicone toys.

How often should I reapply?

Whenever things stop gliding, no schedule required. A few drops of water or saliva can also revive a water-based lube mid-session, a trick that surprises almost everyone the first time. Keep your lube and your after-care bits within reach and you will never think about it again.
